Tempo Mandibular Joint (TMJ) Therapy

What is TMD?

The Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) functions to open and close the mouth. It allows you to chew, swallow and talk.

Temporomandibular disorder (TMD) occurs when the natural function of the TMJ is altered or limited due to disturbances of the joint itself or the muscles in the head, neck and face. TMD can be caused by direct trauma to the jaw, dental procedures, clenching or grinding, abnormal posture, arthritis or displacement of the disc located in the joint.
