Nursing at Independence Health System: Meet Holly
Meet Holly Lint, RN at Independence Health System. She's been with the system for eight years and currently works in the PACU/SSU at Westmoreland Hospital.
"Working in the PACU/SSU nurses are responsible for patients pre-op care for procedures ranging from, hernia surgery, gall bladder, hysterectomy, joint replacement, to complex heart surgery. Once out of surgery I will care for the patients in the recovery room. This includes walking them up, controlling any pain, nausea, and oxygen and completing their post-op care and discharging them.
I absolutely love my job! First, the people I work with are the best and I could not ask for a better boss. We like to try to put our patients at ease and make them smile. Also, knowing
your patient trusts you and knows you have their best interest in mind makes my day.
I'm currently utilizing the debt relief program for nurses in the health system. Before I became a nurse, I was a night shift unit secretary for six years. My mom was a nurse and my is a sister nurse. Nursing is in my blood and heart!"
