The Westmoreland/Frick Foundation hosted their annual black tie event at Greensburg Country Club on March 25, 2023. This years event, Black Tie for Hearts raised funds for the Excela Health Heart, Lung & Vascular Institute.
The night started with former offensive lineman, center and four-time Steelers Super Bowl champion Jon Kolb taking questions from the crowd, with KDKA News sports anchor Bob Pompeani moderating the session. Following the VIP party, the main event kicked off with dinner and remarks by cardiologist Dr. James E. Adisey. Afterward, guests tried their luck at casino-style table games and bidding on an array of silent auction items.
The Excela Health Heart, Lung & Vascular Institute has a reputation for excellence in patient care and quality outcomes with the latest recognition coming from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, ranking the heart surgery program among the top 2 percent nationwide. The Institute offers the life-changing, minimally invasive procedures such as:
- Open Heart Surgery
- TAVR (Trans-Aortic Valve Replacement)
- Watchman
- ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) for the support of a failing heart
The Westmoreland/Frick Hospital Foundation raises funds for the primary purpose of furthering the mission of Excela Health – to improve the health and well-being of every life we touch. Our primary activities are to support our hospitals and other services through funding via any number of initiatives. We distribute monies to enhance services, acquire new equipment and technology, and aid in vital programs for the communities we serve.
To date, our foundation has distributed more than $10 million to make capital and technology improvements at Frick and Westmoreland Hospitals. All monies raised at Black Tie for Hearts will benefit the Excela Health Heart, Lung and Vascular Institute. Your support is greatly appreciated!
