April is National Donate Life Month

April is here, which means it’s National Donate Life Month — a time to raise awareness about organ, tissue and cornea donation; honor those who have given the gift of life through donation; and encourage people to join the donor registry. Butler Health System is proud to recognize this observance alongside the many other organizations and individuals involved in the donation and transplantation process.

You can join in the celebration! Here are a few ways to get involved:

• Share the importance of organ, eye and tissue donation with your family, friends and colleagues.
• Join the organ donor registry, then tell your family about your decision.
• Participate in Blue & Green Spirit Week, sharing pictures from the week on social media. Don’t forget to tag BHS and CORE! 

No matter how you participate, National Donate Life Month is a time for reflection and appreciation of those who gave others a second chance at life. We are grateful for the selflessness and generosity of donors in Pennsylvania and beyond.
