Lymphedema is a chronic, progressive condition that causes swelling in the body’s tissue. It can affect any part of the body but typically affects the arms or legs. There is no known cure, but there are effective treatments available that focus on reducing swelling, discomfort, and controlling the symptoms. Some causes of lymphedema are radiation therapy, removal of lymph nodes, obesity, infection, certain cancer medications, trauma, chronic venous insufficiency, and deficiency of the lymphatic system.
We believe that prevention and control are key to managing this condition long term. We offer education and resources to help patients prevent complications and maintain their overall health.
