Independence Health System Clarion Hospital Grows General Surgery Team

CLARION, PA, Jan. 27, 2025 … Independence Health System has grown its general surgery team at Clarion Hospital with the addition of two experienced physicians from Independence Health System’s Butler Memorial Hospital. Tony Maalouf, MD, and William Streiff, DO will join Charles Huston, MD, and Rodrick Stevenson, MD. They will perform a broad range of surgical procedures, including hernia repairs, gallbladder procedures, colon surgeries, appendectomies, AV fistula procedures, breast procedures (including mastectomies), and more.

Dr. Maalouf joined the medical staff of Butler Memorial Hospital in 1995 and is a highly skilled, board-certified surgeon with nearly 30 years of experience. He treats a variety of conditions using advanced surgical techniques and technology in open, robotic and minimally invasive procedures. Dr. Maalouf earned his medical degree from Lebanese University Medical School and completed a surgery residency at the Western Pennsylvania Hospital, being selected Chief Resident for his clinical and leadership skills.
Dr. Streiff joined the medical staff of Butler Memorial Hospital in 2019. He earned his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a general surgery residency at Geisinger Northeast. He further honed his skills with a bariatric and minimally invasive surgery fellowship at Advent Health in Tampa, Florida. Dr. Streiff is board certified in general surgery and is a fellow of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and the American College of Osteopathic Surgery.
