Independence Health System Welcomes New Trustees to the BHS Foundation Board

Independence Health System is pleased to announce the addition of three new trustees to the BHS Foundation: Robert Buzzelli, Kristen Fiorina and Gail Paserba.

Robert Buzzelli is a seasoned corporate executive with a 40-year career spanning investment banking, private wealth management, venture capital, sales management, corporate advisory, family office services and entertainment management. His experience includes overseeing the wealth management division of a $100 billion financial institution as the managing executive. He also successfully led the growth of a commercial bank from early-stage startup and managed several ultra-high net worth family offices.

Throughout his career, Buzzelli has held senior executive positions with several international financial institutions, including BYN Mellon, PNC Bank, 5th 3rd Bank, US Steel Corp. and several privately owned firms. He is a managing director and shareholder of Terranova Capital and managing partner at Apollo III, Inc.

Buzzelli received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Robert Morris University and holds a master’s in financial management and public policy from Carnegie Mellon University.

In addition to his corporate expertise, Buzzelli’s passion for the arts and education has led him to hold board positions with several organizations, including the Motown Museum, Pittsburgh Jazz Festival, Leadership Pittsburgh, Carnegie Museum of Natural History among others. Buzzelli resides in Adams Township, and has 2 daughters: Cassianna and Gianna.

Kristen Fiorina has more than three decades of experience working in the healthcare field. She has held numerous clinical and leadership roles, including physical therapist, clinical instructor, practice manager, and adjunct lecturer and evaluator of physical therapy at Slippery Rock University. She earned a bachelor’s degree in health science and a master’s in physical therapy from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science.

Mrs. Fiorina currently serves on the All Saints Pastoral Council and All Saints Parish Goals and Vision Planning Team. She also volunteers as a Eucharistic minister, ministry director for the All Saints College Care Package Program, and as a volunteer and caregiver at Isaiah 1:17 House.

Her dedication to making a positive impact earned her recognition as Junior Women of the Year by the Greater Federation of Women’s Club (GWFC) in 2002. Mrs. Fiorina resides in Butler with her husband, Dr. Michael Fiorina. They are the parents of four children: Christopher, Benjamin, Hope and Sarah.

Gail Paserba is the CEO of International Quality Consultants (IQC), Inc., founded by her late husband in 1995. She has more than 25 years of experience in accounting, consulting, management, business strategy and operations. Paserba completed her undergraduate studies at Slippery Rock University and worked in social services early in her career.

Paserba is actively involved in the community, serving on several boards, including the Butler County Community College Board of Trustees, the Butler County Chamber of Commerce, the Pine Richland Youth Foundation and the Butler County Industrial Development Association.

In memory of her late husband, an accomplished track athlete and 2005 inductee into the Butler County Sports Hall of Fame, she created a scholarship to aid students participating in track & field at Butler High School and Slippery Rock University. Paserba resides in Butler. She has two sons, now business partners with her at IQC.

"We are honored to extend a warm welcome to our newest members of the BHS Foundation Board," said Larry Richert, Board Chair. "Together, we will continue to support Butler Memorial Hospital in its efforts to provide high-quality services to enhance the health and well-being of the community.”
