Independence Health System Among Best-in-State on Forbes List of America’s Top Employers for 2024

GREENSBURG, August 22, 2024 …  Independence Health System adds to the its state and national accolades with the latest recognition coming from Forbes on its list of America’s Best-In-State Employers 2024. This honor is presented in partnership with Statista Inc., the leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider. Independence Health System is one of 1,294 companies nationwide and 100 in Pennsylvania to be lauded in this manner with the complete list of honorees available on Forbes website, https://www.forbes.com/lists/best-employers-by-state/

America's Best-In-State Employers 2024 have been identified in an independent survey from a sample of more than 160,000 employees working for companies employing at least 500 people within the United States. The ranking is open to companies from all industry sectors. Approximately 4.4 million employer evaluations were considered. The review of data collected over a three-year lookback aided in a robust differentiation between organizations that consistently perform well from those that may only have had a single good year. An employer's final score is determined on a state-by-state basis and is built upon both personal and public evaluations, taking into consideration the willingness to recommend the employer and other independent accolades received by the awardee.

The America’s Best-In-State Employers ranking has been published every year since 2019. Statista’s partnership with Forbes spans more than a decade, as the research and analysis services produces hundreds of worldwide industry rankings and company listings in collaboration with high-profile media partners.  The America’s Best-In-State Employers is one of 12 lists to be published by Forbes in 2024.

For lists based primarily on metrics — such as a company’s reputation, human resources programs and employee benefits — Statista’s analysts first identify a pool of companies in each category, which is further narrowed down through the list’s criteria. Statista then conducts desk research and analysis of publicly available data on each company to determine the final list.

Companies must meet several benchmarks to be eligible for consideration. Depending on the category being ranked, initial qualifying criteria may include metrics such as employee count, number of years in business, industry category and location. Beyond that, the specific evaluating factors — including survey responses — are incorporated into a scoring model that is unique to the methodology of each list. The companies with the highest scores are included on the final list.

The number of companies on each state’s list varied by the size of its companies and workforce. As with all Forbes lists, companies pay no fee to participate.
