Program Aims
- To improve patient continuity, the patient-physician relationship, and
community-based care for Butler, PA through our family medicine residency clinic
- To train resident physicians that become actively involved in the community,
with the hopes that they will continue serving this community after graduation
- To provide residents with opportunities to be leaders in primary care areas
of interest through specialty tracks in sports medicine, palliative care, etc.
- To develop physician graduates with an understanding of cultural humility
and the unique needs of underserved and vulnerable patient populations
including but not limited to the homeless, children in crisis and foster
care, adjudicated youth, and women with unplanned pregnancies
- To graduate primary care physicians equipped to serve their patients' diverse
needs including treating various medical conditions and delivering excellence
in preventive care
